Well spoken: Alyssa Sinnott from the Ponoka Renegade Riders 4-H Horse Club provides a passionate prepared speech on Blake Mycoskie, a U.S. businessman that came up with the idea to help impoverished people around the world by giving away a pair of shoes for every one that was sold. Sinnott was among the 11 senior level competitors at the West Central Regional 4-H public speaking event at the Ponoka Legion Auditorium on March 25. Lois Schultz from the Wetaskiwin area Coal Lake Lighthorse 4-H club and Matthew Gabert of the Innisfail Nails, Needles and Noses 4-H club finished in the top two spots and will compete in the provincial event next month in Wetaskiwin.
