The band Super Trucker entertained folks on the main stage at the Canada Day event hosted by the Town of Ponoka. Initially clouds appeared cause the event to be cancelled but when they bypassed the town, the event went on without a hitch.

The Canada Day festivities closed with a show of fireworks, which was a joint venture by the Town of Ponoka and the Ponoka Stampede Association. A brief rain right before the fireworks helped create some brilliant colours on the ground as well as the sky.
