Remember When? This classic early 1900s photo was taken on Chipman Avenue in a vacant lot exactly where the Ponoka News is now located. A favourite event in those grand old days was when the First Nations families came to town, camped in the Battle River valley, and then joined in with the local citizens for several gala days of friendly trading and colourful pow-wows. Please notice our first wooden sidewalks and the presence of the old reliable horse and buggies.
