A unique charity initiative by Shop 4 Charity has tapped into the Christmas spirit of giving in a unique initiative intended to keep the Christmas spirit alive all year long, while at the same time supporting the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CFBF).

It's called the Shop 4 Charity Calendar Sweepstakes and the money raised goes to funding research, programs and prevention initiatives of the CFBF.

"We're tremendously grateful for this partnership," said Chelsea Draeger, Director of Research and Programs for the CBCF. "Over the past three years the program has raised over a half million dollars, and all of it has gone directly into our programs." She added that the CBCF is the largest charitable funder of breast cancer research in Canada and it's programs range from research , to education and prevention.

"This is the first year we've offered the calendar for sale right across the country," said Bill Bayles, Chairman of Shop 4 Charity. "It's an exciting opportunity for people to support an amazing cause while having the chance to win fantastic prizes all year long."

It all starts with the purchase of a calendar from Shop 4 Charity by calling them direct at 844-912-7465 or by visiting sweepstakesforthecure.ca. Each calendar has its own registration number and, upon purchase, enters the owner into an on-going series of prize draws.

Bayles explained that the on-going nature of the prizes is key to the success of the fund raising project.

"Rather than having a single draw for a prize, the calendar offers a daily opportunity to win. There are daily cash draws, draws for vehicles, gift cards...and a lot more.

One of the prizes is a weekly draw for a fabulous vacation and our calendar features pictures of those holiday destinations so, when you look at your calendar, you can see where you could be heading if your calendar's number is drawn. It's a fun way to highlight that particular prize," said Bayles.

According to Bayles, the calendar has become very popular as a Christmas gift and Shop 4 Charity has responded by offering discounted prices and free shipping for bundles of calendars of ten or more until Dec. 16, 2016.

"It's important that people get their calendars as soon as possible as we're already drawing some early bird prizes," said Bayles, adding that it's equally important to remember that every purchase of a calendar helps to support the CBCF.
