Town of Ponoka welcomes new director of operations

The Town of Ponoka is pleased to welcome Chris McKenna as our new director of operations and property services.

Under the general direction of the town CAO, Chris is responsible for providing management, leadership and direction to all departments within operations and property services for the Town of Ponoka, which includes public works, water and sewer services, electrical, solid waste and recycling, roads, fleet and equipment maintenance, the airport, and land use development and management.

His duties include ensuring the activities and responsibilities of each department are run efficiently and are customer service oriented.

McKenna brings extensive experience and expertise to his new role with the Town of Ponoka having worked in local government and sport facility management for the past 20 years.

His operational background includes working as an operations manager for Corpus Christi (Texas Ice Arena) and the Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club Coliseum. He has held several leadership roles in municipal government including director of community services for both the Town of Stettler and the Municipal District of Bonnyville, as well as general manager of the City of Lloydminster Multiplex, parks and facilities foreman for the Town of Blackfalds, and director of operations for the Town of Didsbury.

Currently residing in Blackfalds, McKenna is also an active community volunteer who has already committed to helping coach the senior Broncs football team. Please join us in welcoming McKenna to the Town of Ponoka.
