Ponoka RCMP conduct joint agency check stop in Lacombe County

On Thursday, Oct. 7 2021, the Ponoka RCMP conducted a joint agency traffic project, resulting in multiple tickets and warnings being issued.

The Ponoka RCMP, along with the Ponoka Integrated Traffic Unit, Lacombe County Peace Officers and Alberta Transportation, conducted several commercial vehicle safety inspections in Lacombe County in the area of Highway 2A and Highway 604.

A total of 11 non-moving violation tickets were issued, as well as eight warnings and 16 commercial vehicle safety inspections were conducted.

During the check stop, over 130 mandatory alcohol screening samples were taken, none of which lead to any alcohol-related suspensions.
