Suspect wanted in Ponoka theft

A man is being sought in respects to a theft from a local gas station last month.

Ponoka RCMP are hoping the public can help identify a man that helped himself to some cash from the Stampede Plaza Petro-Canada gas station located on the town’s west side alongside Highway 53.

The man entered the store and went to the back of the business, appearing to head toward the washroom. However, he went into the store’s office located in the same area and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was captured on video surveillance in the store and is described as Caucasian, around 5’6” in height, 165 pounds while wearing a blue and while plaid-like shirt. He may also have been driving a newer model dark blue Chevrolet Malibu.
