Two suspects arrested for assault in Ponoka with a baseball bat

Ponoka RCMP respond to robbery with a weapon incident

On Oct. 9, 2021, at approximately 9:40 a.m., the Ponoka RCMP responded to a complaint of robbery at a residence in Ponoka.

Two males entered the residence and assaulted the occupant of the residence with a baseball bat.

The suspects stole a small amount of money, along with some electronics equipment.

The victim was able to flee the residence and go to a neighbor’s house and call 911.

The two male suspects then fled the residence in a small SUV.

The suspects were located at a residence on the Montana First Nation.

The suspects were taken into custody without incident. Both individuals are currently in custody and awaiting court appearances.

Connor Saddleback, 27, has been charged with robbery with a weapon, assault with a weapon, as well as four counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Junior Rain, 21, has been charged with robbery with a weapon.

The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
