Blackfalds RCMP have charged a man with possession of stolen property after being found stuck in the ditch in a stolen vehicle.
The incident occurred Jan. 23 at about 2 p.m. after RCMP received a complaint of a vehicle stuck in the ditch and the man attempting to get out. A passerby wrote down the licence plate number and passed it on to police where they determined the vehicle was stolen.
When officers arrived the man was found attempting to flee in another vehicle. Police charged Matthew MacDonald with possession of stolen property.
At the same time it was revealed MacDonald had 26 outstanding charges on warrants including one for a Ponoka RCMP investigation.
He has been remanded into custody and is set to appear in court Jan. 31.
Blackfalds RCMP thanked the public for contacting them about the incident.
