Sharkey Marianne Emma (Cassidy/Northcott)
It is with heavy hearts and immense sadness that we announce that Marianne "Passed through the doors of this world into the arms of angels " on February 27,2010 at the age of 53 years at the Lacombe Hospital with her loving family at her side.
She lost her 5 1/2 year fight against ovarian cancer but what she never lost was her determination and a fighting spirit. Her courage and dignity throughout has been an inspiration to us all.
Although the time we enjoyed and cherished with her was too short, Marianne touched us all with her profound strength and passion for life who loved her family, friends and life very much. She is the meaning of strength.
Marianne was born on February 5, 1957 at Lacombe Ab.
She was raised and took her schooling in Ponoka, Lacombe and Red Deer. In 1975 she graduated from DelMar College of Hair Design in Calgary Ab, Marianne was such a creative, professional and passionate stylist, she loved styling family and friends hair, and took pride in it. She enjoyed cooking, interior decorating, sewing, camping, music, reading, travelling, boating and spending time with family and friends.
Her greatest love and pride was in her two sons which she nicknamed Coder-son & Boomer they are her heart and joy, she would always tell them " Believe in your dreams and know how much I believe in you .
Marianne is survived by her loving husband John of Calgary, Ab, two sons; Cody Cassidy of Calgary,Ab and Tanner Cassidy of Okotooks, Ab, mother Marion Northcott of Ponoka, Ab , sisters ; Shelley (Pete) Cretney of Lacombe,Ab, Linda Sidor of Ponoka,Ab Step-Father; Blaine Northcott of Winfield Ab, Nephew, Kenny Munn and Nieces , Cathy Markcovich (Johnson) Of Ponoka Ab Lisa Nault of Red Deer, Ab. Aunt Karen Ekeli of Camrose Ab, and Other extended family and friends.
At Marianne’s request no funeral service to be held. A celebration of her life will be held with her family and friends in the spring.
