WILKINS, Neil
Neil Percy Wilkins, passed away at the age of 80, Wednesday, July 19, 2017. He leaves behind his sons, Bill (Kelly), Doug (Sharon), Rick (Paula) and grand-children Jenna (Peter) with great grandchild Daelyn, Madison (Craig), Stefanie, Jesse, Elizabeth, Liam, Nate, Carter, and his four legged 'best friend' Sadie; Dad loved that dog. Born in Wainwright, Alberta on September 15, 1936, Neil moved to Ponoka in 1937 with his parents Percy and Blenda Wilkins. In his early years, Neil attended school in Ponoka and was an athlete participating in many sports, but hockey and golf were his passion. A horseman, an avid hunter and supporter of the Ponoka Rodeo. Neil and his father ran the Ponoka Furniture store for many years and after selling the business, Neil spent some time in Kamloops, BC, before returning to Ponoka. In lieu of flowers the family would like to suggest donations to Old MacDonald Kennels and Animal Shelter, RR#1 Box 12, Site 7 Ponoka, Alberta T4J 1R1.
