Tena Vande Bunte
Tena “Trijntje” Vande Bunte (nee van de Werfhorst) was born on January 26, 1924 in Doornspijk, The Netherlands, and passed away peacefully in Ponoka, Alberta, on January 05, 2017 at 92 years of age. Tena, with her husband George, emigrated to Canada in 1948 where they built a home life based on love, family and faith. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Ron Henry, Doreen (Ed) Prestayko, Gary (Chris) Vande Bunte, Catherine (Garry) McLeod, and Robert (Fara) Vande Bunte; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; her sister Hannie Anthonisse of The Netherlands as well as many extended family in Canada and The Netherlands. She was predeceased by her husband George, three sisters and two brothers. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Ponoka. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so the morning of the funeral from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Ponoka Funeral Home.
