Vivian Voysey


Vivian passed away at the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre on May 9, 2017 at the age of 83 years. Vivian was born on November 9, 1933 to Denis and Myrtle Waltz in Elk Point, Alberta. She married Donald Voysey of Rimbey in 1952. Vivian will be best remembered as a smart and vivacious woman with a passion for family ties, a love for the outdoors, and a sharp mind for crossword puzzles. Vivian is lovingly survived by her sister Lois McKenzie; brother Ken (Bernice) Waltz; brother-in-law Walter (Dorothy) Kowalzik and sisters-in-law Karen Waltz and Joyce Waltz; four sons Jim (Janette) of Edmonton, Leroy (Begum), Robert, and Chuck (Janice) all of Ponoka; five grandchildren Kimberly, Jennifer (Cody Spurr), Michael, Stephanie (Aaron Froehler), and Kelsey; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Vivian was predeceased by her parents Denis and Myrtle Waltz; husband Donald; brothers Lawrence, Leroy, and Marvin Waltz; sisters Doris Nafziger, Velma Kowalzik, and Yvonne Waltz; and brothers-in-law Norman McKenzie and Lloyd Nafziger. A Memorial Service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Ponoka Funeral Home with the Interment Service following at the West Haven Cemetery west of Rimbey. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Palliative Care unit at the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre (Ponoka & District Health Foundation) or the Rimoka Housing Foundation.
