Ponoka's Alta 55+ Sports Association recently held a successful 5-pin bowling Challenge Cup tournament with 14 teams from all over central Alberta.
Ponoka's Doug Gill team of Doug and Shirley Gill, Alistair and Nancy MacKenzie and Anton Thomas took home the first-place trophy.
Rimbey's Monty Haslam team took second and Ponoka's Dennis Ensminger took third.
Alta 55+ is an active, fun, government-sponsored sports association for active people over 55 years of age who like to participate in competitions and fun events leading up to the Alberta Summer and Winter Games held every two years. They may also continue on to Canada Games.
