Grade 2 classes at Ponoka Elementary School received a special treat recently as 14 pro rodeo contestants visited the children. The cowboys took the time to read and tell stories to the kids
The cowboys were joined by Tim Edge and Inge Sybrandi. Edge, who is organizing the Wild West Show for the Ponoka Stampede, spoke about the 75th anniversary of the Stampede.
Sybrandi, who designed the Ponoka Stampede calendar, spoke about some of the stories depicted in her sketches in the calendar.
Each cowboy received several questions about the life of a pro rodeo competitor.
The day’s grand finale was a trick roping performance from Edge.
