On May 24 members of the Crestomere 4-H Multi Club gathered at Murray Key’s farm for our Achievement Day. We brought the rockets that we built and launched them for our families and the judges to see. It was very exciting.
After inspecting the rockets, watching them launch and questioning each member the judges placed Thomas Luce in third, Samantha Lysons in second and Morena Stamm in first place.
Our judges, Damian Stamm and Chase Key congratulated all the members for their efforts. We are very thankful to our instructor, Murray Key for teaching us, letting us work in his garage and sharing his supplies. Murray also blasted off two of his larger rockets, which was awesome!
We are also thankful to everyone who has supported our club during our first year, especially UFA, Safeway, The Co-operators and all the families who purchased flower baskets from Rock Lake Garden Centre during our fundraiser.
We are all looking forward to our year-end family trip to the Edmonton Space Science Centre on June 21.
We will also be working at the Encana barbecue during the Ponoka Stampede and selling ice cream at the County Fair in August. Plans are being made for our club for next year so if you are over age nine and interested in joining us please call our Leader Beatrix Stamm at 783-8740.
If there is enough interest we will be adding other types of projects such as woodworking, dogs, crafts or cooking to our club.
