Emergency services on display

CHARLES TWEED/Ponoka News

Emergency Services Day will take place June 5 at the Ponoka Culture and Recreation Complex.

The day-long event will feature Search and Rescue from Red Deer, the RCMP Bomb Unit, Sustainable Resource’s and the Lacombe Bronto Aerial truck.

Local emergency services personnel, including Guardian Ambulance, Ponoka Fire Department and RCMP will also be there both in manpower and equipment.

“It’s a display of all the emergency vehicles and services that are available to us,” said Fire Chief Ted Dillon. “It’s a good chance for the community to see the gear we use on a daily basis and for them to know whatever the incident or emergency, they are well looked after.”

Dillon also encouraged people to come down and ask questions about the equipment and learn about the gear that keeps them safe.
