Brittney Feldberg of the Ponoka Skating Club was awarded the Alberta, NWT/Nunavut Section award for Program Assistant of the Year.
She was presented with the award by Olympian Cody Hay at the Section AGM in Calgary on April 30. She had been selected at the local (2010) and regional level as Program Assistant of the Year.
Feldberg is an exemplary role model for other program assistants to follow. She is developing leadership skills and learning more about the sport of skating. In the future she would like to complete her coaching certification so she can continue to pass her love of the sport on to others and help the sport grow.
Skate Ponoka is proud of the high calibre of its program assistants, which allows them to offer a strong learn to skate programs. The success of the CanSkate program is dependent on the dedication and commitment of these young leaders.
