Gators win big in Red Deer meet

The Ponoka Gators competed in their second meet of the season in Red Deer on June 13 and 14. Eighteen swimmers represented Ponoka, who beat out larger teams from Killiam, Red Deer, Lacombe and Innisfail to clinch the top spot at the meet.

The Ponoka Gators competed in their second meet of the season in Red Deer on June 13 and 14. Eighteen swimmers represented Ponoka, who beat out larger teams from Killiam, Red Deer, Lacombe and Innisfail to clinch the top spot at the meet.

Younger Gators

Dale Winter- first in 25 meter butterfly, fourth in 25m backstroke, fifth in 50m freestyle, and seventh in 50m breast stroke. Tristan Wine- 14th 50m freestyle and ninth in 50m back. Adam Guthrie- sixth in 50m backstroke, sixth in 100m Individual Medley and 11th 50m freestyle. Emily Parker- fourth in 25m freestyle, first in 50 meter freestyle, third 25m backstroke, and third in 25m flutterboard. Maia Hoogers- second in 25m back, second in 25m flutterboad, second in 50m freestyle and third in 25m freestyle. Lauren Wine- first in 50m free, first in 25m freestyle, second in 25m backstroke and first in 25m butterfly. Alison Guthrie- sixth in 25m freestyle, fourth in 50m freestyle, fourth in 25m backstroke, and fifth in 25m flutterboard. Kate Parker- fourth in 50 free and fourth in 25 butterfly.

Older Gators

Tanner Elliot- third in 50m butterfly, fourth in 50m freestyle and second in 50m backstroke. Lisa Winter- tenth in 200m Individual Medley, 19th 50m backstroke, and tenth in 50m butterfly. Helena Winter- 29th 50m freestyle, and 18th 50m freestyle. Darcy Hoogers- second in 100m freestyle, fifth in 50m backstroke, ninth in 50m butterfly and sixth in 50m freestyle.

Holly Elliot- 11th in 100m breast stroke, 17th 50m freestyle, 12th 50m butterfly and 15th 200m freestyle. Megan Grant- 20th 50m backstroke, 11th 50m breast stroke and ninth in 50m butterfly. Presley Waknuk- third in 200m Individual Medley, first in 100m backstroke, third in 200m freestyle, first in 400m freestyle and first in 50m butterfly. Shelby Waknuk- 14th 200m freestyle. Keane Morrow- first in 100m butterfly, first in 50m butterfly, first in 200m Individual Medley, second in 400m freestyle, first in 50m freestyle and first in 100m freestyle. Kyle Morrow- first in 1500m freestyle, first in 50m freestyle, first in 100m backstroke, first in 400m freestyle, 1first in 200m Individual Medley and first in 100m freestyle.
