IODE supports organizations

Fort Ostell chapter of the IODE, a women’s charitable organization in Ponoka, recently presented $16,524 to local organizations.

The funds were proceeds earned by members and friends volunteering at the Jackpot Casino last July.

The IODE’s objective is to support education by offering scholarships and awards to students. In addition, support is provided to local organizations.

Donations were provided to: Ponoka Youth Centre, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Fort Ostell Museum, Ponoka Food Bank, Ponoka Splash Park, Ponoka Wheelchair Van Society, Central Alberta Women’s Shelter, Boy Scouts/Girl Guides and Ponoka Adult Literacy Society.
