Need a quick boost in the morning after a long Stampede night?

Check out the many pancake breakfasts Ponoka has to offer.

Pancake breakfasts are a rite of passage during Stampede time and there are many options.

Ponoka News will host its annual pancake breakfast on Chipman Avenue on June 30 from 8 to 11 a.m. Patrons are encouraged to make donations toward the Ponoka Splash Park, but the pancake breakfast itself is free.

“The splash park is something that would be good for this community,” said Ponoka News manager Judy Dick. “It would bring people into the area therefore help our economy.”

Ponoka News has hosted the pancake breakfast for eight years, after taking over the event from the Ponoka Chamber of Commerce.

There will also be a pancake breakfast held at Gemini, which is located at 4100 - 67 Street, from 8 to 11 a.m. on July 1.

There will be yet another pancake breakfast, hosted by the Alberta Cattleman’s Fellowship on July 3 from 7:30 to 10 a.m. There will also be a church service available before the breakfast at the grandstands on the rodeo grounds.
