This year’s trade fair held by the Ponoka and District Chamber of Commerce promises a large variety of activities for kids of all ages.

Attendees should remember to tour the entire fair as their stamped passports will get them into a draw for 30 passes for two to see a Lego movie at the Capital Theatre. The passes include pop and popcorn and are sponsored by Hamilton’s IGA with the movie still to be determined.

The chamber is excited for what is expected to be a big draw this year with the 1-Up Gaming mobile unit coming to the trade. Anyone who enjoys playing video games will have a chance at a 30 minute game time for $10.

To save on the gaming experience coupons were sent out to the schools for 50 per cent off regular admission but don’t lose the coupons, they need to be presented when ready to play. Due to expected demand for playing there are limited spaces available.

Continuing with the Lego theme, PonokaLive, the chamber’s online business portal has donated a Millennium Falcon Lego set as this year’s big raffle prize. Anyone with a love of Star Wars, which was last year’s theme, and Lego will surely enjoy this fantastic prize.

For the younger ones the popular duck pond features a fun prize for the kids with SWAG donated by Your Dollar Store With More. It’s usually busy all weekend with kids trying their luck with the fishing lines.

There’s a group in the province with a love of Lego that is attending. The Northern Alberta LEGO Users Group is hosting an interactive display sponsored by Battle River Insurance, The Cooperators, which is free with entry to the trade fair.

There’s always opportunities to enjoy fun Lego times at the trade fair with the Ponoka Jubilee Library supplying its large Lego resources to give kids a chance to use their imaginations and build, build and build.

Other fun events and amenities include face painting, mini donuts and Lego displays in various booths around the trade fair. Along with that is the completely sold out market square bringing home-based businesses as well as crafters to the small ice surface.
