Building empowerment: The 14th Montana First Nation Annual Women’s Conference was held on the Montana Cree Nation May 9. Used to empower women, the conference also aims to also empower families to live healthy lives. Manager of Brighter Futures Ingrid Kellen organized the event and has dedicated herself to her community and focuses on empowerment, explained Chevi Rabbit, who was also at the conference. This year, the event highlighted and honoured all missing and murdered women, and local women created a few hundred handmade red ribbon dresses for all women who attended.
