Fawn rescued: Ponoka County grader operator Randy Pletz had a big surprise the morning of June 12 after finding a fawn sitting next to a dead doe deer. Pletz returned later in the day to see the fawn in the same spot some 10 hours later. He collected the little animal and fed it a bottle of food before eventually taking it to the Medicine River Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre for proper care.
