Raising the Maple Leaf: After some years of legwork the Ponoka Rotary Club raised a large Canadian Flag and pole at the Highway 2A and Highway 53 intersection. The flag raising was held June 30 just before the big Stampede Parade and was followed by the singing of O Canada. Among the dignitaries present were MP Blaine Calkins and former Ponoka Rotarian Cameron Chisholm who helped get the project moving. Photo by Jeffrey Heyden-Kaye
