Furry walkers: Dubbed Barnwalkers

Furry walkers: Dubbed Barnwalkers, a number of Ponoka residents have found a place to stretch out their leg muscles with their pets during cold, winter months at Heritage Stables at the Calnash Ag Events Centre. The doors are open weekdays to people who want to maintain a level of activity throughout the year and can bring their dogs. Over the years use has grown and now as many as 100 Barnwalkers use the stables. Dogs must be kept on a leash as cattle or horses with their accompanying features are housed at times - it is a barn, after all! The Barnwalkers presented an “In Appreciation” plaque and also made a donation to the Ag Centre “Roof Fund” recently. Pictured are Dennis Pugh (with barn cat, Miss Kitty), barnwalkers Judy Crawford and Peg Peterson (with Precious) and barn manager Ray Holman (with be-coned barn cat Shadow).
