June

June put on her long green dress

And showered it with dandelions.

She sprinkled violets in her hair

to bring me a bouquet of lilacs.

Watering cans and daisies

Birds nests and babies.

Skipping ropes and sidewalk chalk

Gentle breezes and dust to shock.

Floundering new life has arrived

To show us energy and appreciate the powers to be.
