Ponoka 4-H Beef Club has been busy

The group is preparing for the big beef sale coming up May 8 at the Calnash Ag Event Centre.

This year the West Ponoka 4-H Beef Club started the year off with weigh-in on Oct. 9, 2017.

All the steers looked amazing.

We volunteered to set up tables and chairs for the Festival of Trees. We then had a Christmas party at the Usona Curling Club and did some curling. Mid weigh-in for calves was on Jan. 20th and all the calves gained well.

Club public speaking was on Feb. 15. Members did well presenting their speeches and some moved on to the zone competition. Club mini show was March 26 and we had a clipping and grooming demonstration that taught us a lot.

May 5th our club will be doing highway clean up. To complete our projects the show and sale will take place on May 8th. Please come and see our steer and heifer projects and enjoy the sale.
