Family Fun Day during Ponoka Festival of Trees, sponsored by the Town of Ponoka, was held on Dec. 3.

Earlier this fall, town council approved a $4,000 donation to sponsor the Family Fun Day event in support of the Ponoka and District Health Foundation (PDHF).

Family Fun Day offered fun and entertainment for all ages including:

• Photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus;

• A magic show by Kyle the Magician; and

• Hot dogs, treats and refreshments.

“The Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre is a vital part of our community because it plays a critical role in helping to look after the health and wellness of our residents,” said Ponoka Mayor Kevin Ferguson in a release.

In previous years, the Town of Ponoka has sponsored Ponoka Festival of Trees’ Breakfast with Santa and other Family Fun Day events.

In 2020 and 2021 when the Ponoka Festival of Trees was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town of Ponoka made financial contributions to PDHF to assist with renovations and equipment purchases at the Ponoka hospital.
