A country music show at the Ponoka Legion will raise money for Wounded Warriors Canada.

Set for Friday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m., the event is about celebrating music and supporting veterans.

As a young military vet myself, I feel it’s important to give back to Legion but also help out a cause like the Wounded Warriors.

Wounded Warriors Canada is a foundation focused on providing assistance through 12 different programs to veterans and first responders with mental health or physical injury complications.

I’m a musician, so the best way I know how to give back is to host a show. I’ll be opening the night with my own songs and I’ve brought a great band in from the Nanton area. Tin and the Toad are rural country musicians with incredible modern songs of the unpaved west.

We have a silent auction with donations from great local businesses as well as Corb Lund, and Lacombe artist Georgia Graham.

All proceeds of the auction will be going to Wounded Warriors Canada. Last year we raised ~$750 that night, this year I’d like to get over $1000.
