Veterans toasted the memories of lost comrades and were recognized for their service to the Queen on Sept. 24 at the Ponoka Legion.

In attendance was former MP Dale Johnston and Mayor Larry Henkelman, who gave a short speech honouring veterans.

The other purpose of the dinner was to present the third edition of the Alberta-Northwest Territories Command Military Service Recognition Book, which tells the stories of Canadian veterans and significant accomplishments in their careers.
