Ponoka Stampede 2008

Ponoka was filled with many different fun activities during the 72nd annual Ponoka Stampede. Pictures from top left and clockwise: Mikayla Hoffman, Grace Greene, Mackenzie Hoffman enjoy some pancakes during the Ponoka News pancake breakfast. The midway on the Stampede grounds was a busy and fun place to be with many games and rides for the young and the young at heart. Clown Gerry Liddle has roller-skated the parade in the same skates for the last 30 years. The Ponoka Stampede infield was full for the Shane Yellowbird and George Canyon concert. The ladies of the Ponoka Stampede started each performance off with a roaring ride carrying in all of the flags. On the first night of chuckwagon action the crowd witnessed a rainbow in the sky as the chucks raced around the barrels. The parade featured a pooper scooper and a member of the Shriners in a mini car. Ty Wiltse, three-years old from Whitecourt jammed away on his guitar entertaining the crowds at the Ponoka News breakfast.
