The Town of Ponoka’s annual self-guided Christmas Lights Tour starts on Dec. 5.

The tour will showcase festively decorated homes and yards throughout the community.

“There are many citizens in Ponoka who put an exceptional amount of effort into their Christmas light displays each year,” said chief administrative officer Sandra Lund in a press release.

“The self-guided Christmas Lights Tour is a great opportunity for people to show off their beautifully decorated homes, while offering a family-fun activity that many can enjoy.”

The town encourages residents to contact the Town of Ponoka by Dec. 2 if they would like to enter their home in the community’s Christmas Lights Tour.

To enter your home, phone 403-783-0131 or email recreation@ponoka.ca and provide your name and address.

Your location will then be added to the tour map that will be posted on the town’s website at www.ponoka.ca on Dec. 5. The tour map will also be posted on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram @TownofPonoka.

Light display at Lions Centennial Park

The Lions Centennial Park Christmas light display will be one of the stops along Ponoka’s Christmas Lights Tour.

The light display is expected to be bigger and brighter than ever this year after a $5,000 donation from the Ponoka Lions Club’s which will help expand the thousands of festive lights strung throughout the park.
