The Dakota district north-west of Ponoka was settled in the early 1900s, and with steady growth the immediate need was realized for a school and a cemetery. David Wing and Eb R. Olmstead graciously donated the land for the now historical cemetery, and some of the first pioneers of the district shown here from left to right were: Dave, Corliss, and Lamuel Wing and Eb and Allan Olmstead.
