This unique log building with the tiny windows was our very first Fort Ostell Museum, which was built in the new Centennial Park and was opened in the late 1960s as a 1967 Alberta Centennial project under the direction of the Fort Ostell Museum Society. When the current Fort Ostell Museum was completed in 1981 at the same location this initial building was moved to the Ponoka Stampede grounds and served as the Cowboy Museum and the Visitor Information Centre for many years, and still proudly stands in the same location.
