One of the likeable characters of the early Springdale and Menaik district was William Josiah Sweet, also fondly known as Uncle Bill or by the nickname of “Uncle Squirrel’ because of his eccentricities.
Shown here with the two Frankies (Mrs. Don Sweet and Mrs. Amos Sweet), Bill, who was a bachelor, was also an ardent naturist, gardener, and musician who composed his own songs.
