Wherever you live, chances are you benefit from the contributions of Alberta’s 370,000 seniors. Seniors’ Week 2008, from June 2 - 8, is a great time to let all seniors know how much we appreciate them.
The 2008 theme, Our Seniors - Building a Stronger Alberta, reflects how today’s seniors are some of our most dedicated and generous volunteers, family supporters and philanthropists. Without a doubt, they make a difference that is felt everyday by Albertans across the province.
The Seniors Advisory Council for Alberta leads the annual Seniors’ Week celebration, which is being launched at the Calgary Zoo on June 2 at 10:30 a.m.
The Lacombe-Ponoka Constituency celebrates Seniors’ Week as well. There are many events planned, such as pancake breakfasts, garden parties, teas, ice cream socials and much more.
Please check the events calendar which is available online at www.seniors.gov.ab.ca or by contacting the Council at 780-422-2321 toll-free by dialing 310-0000 first. You may also contact Cheryl at my constituency office at (403) 782-7725.
As MLA for this constituency, I would like to personally thank our seniors for their continued contributions to a stronger province. I hope you all will join me in celebrating and recognizing Alberta’s seniors.
