More than 340 of 1,000 students have been awarded scholarships and awards for the 2010-2011 academic year from the University of Alberta Augustana Campus in Camrose.
Ponoka-area students receiving awards are:
Richelle Hoar of Ponoka, a first-year bachelor of science student, was awarded a total of $2,250 for academic excellence, funded by an Augustana Faculty Academic Entrance Scholarship and a University of Alberta Academic Excellence Scholarship.
Lane Hudson of Bashaw, a first-year bachelor of science student, was awarded a total of $4,500 for academic excellence, funded by The Verda and J.D. McNeill Scholarship, The David Lynn Bennett Memorial Award and a University of Alberta Academic Excellence Scholarship.
Providing over $580,000 to its students in scholarships and awards, U of A Augustana recognizes excellence in academics, fine arts, athletics, and leadership. Support comes from generous donors, investment earnings on endowments, and from faculty funded awards.
