Town briefs

The Town of Ponoka held their regular town council meeting on July 22 at Town Hall. Council gave first reading to a draft of Bylaw 248-08 to impose a curfew. The bylaw would impose the curfew from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day for a person under the age of 16 years of age. The council is now inviting people to send in verbal and written comments to the town in regards to the bylaw before Aug. 15 at 4 p.m.

The council heard information regarding a proposal by the Ponoka Gymnastics club to build a new facility for the club. The town also accepted for information the operating and capital statements as of June 20.
