It’s a new year for the West Ponoka 4-H Beef Club.

We started the year with our first meeting at the Usona Hall, where we learned about what this year will look like, had elections for our general leader and assistants, elected our clubs executive and assigned committee roles.

We attended our initial weigh-in of calves on Thanksgiving Monday and everyone’s calves are looking good. We weighed them and processed them at VJV.

We have 22 members and have 36 animals that include market steers, heifer projects, carcass projects and even cow calf projects.

Our volunteers make the club run. One of our fundraisers will be to collect vehicle batteries so if you have some, feel free to contact a West Ponoka Beef 4-H member.

We can’t wait to see you at our show and sale on May 2 to 3, 2022, at the Calnash Ag Event Centre.
