Thinking of a spring garden doesn’t normally make a person look up but a perfect addition to any garden is a hanging basket full of flowers. Hanging planters are good for any garden big or small.

The Ponoka and District Chamber of Commerce had their general meeting at the Old Iron Horse restaurant on April 15.

On April 13, between 10:30 and 11 p.m. Ponoka Composite High School was vandalized. Unknown suspects broke into the equipment shed at PCHS and took javelins and golf clubs. They proceeded to the roof of the high school where they broke the windows of the General Purpose room and broke the window of the school’s front door.

This week we will complete the final chapter of Irish born Canadian geographer and explorer Captain John Palliser. After his stint in the military service of his homeland, Palliser embarked on numerous adventures into the wilderness of Canada, completing maps and diaries full of information on the flora, fauna and topography of the hundreds of miles of landscape that his expedition visited.

The Ponoka Branch #66 of the Royal Canadian Legion celebrated their 80th anniversary last week with a variety of different events including remembering and looking to the future.
