Following the Economic Development Community Planning meeting on Feb. 6 the Economic Development board has viewed the input given and developed a plan.

I love a good mystery. Mysteries have this amazing ability to suck us in and play with our emotions. We seem to love not knowing.

Two Ponoka teachers have been nominated for their outstanding teaching and dedication. Catherine Knudskov and Lisa Tidd are semi-finalists for Alberta’s 2008 Excellence in Teaching Award.

Although looked upon by some for many decades as a nuisance and somewhat destructive part of our natural wilderness landscape, it was the sheer determination of the beaver family, who with their tenacious and superb engineering skills likely influenced the history of Canada more than any other animal.

On March 18, seven high school students from St. Augustine School and a teacher chaperone left for Spain for nine days. The girls were three Grade 10 students: Cheyanne Hinkley, Kayla Lockhart and Taylor Horlock and four Grade 12 students: Katie Cire, Katherine Bergum, Jalene Makus and Amber Rakai.

It just seems like we started this year and we are already heading into grad, open house and registration processes for next year. Certainly an exciting time at Ponoka Composite High School.

Between March 30 and April 6, Ponoka RCMP members were like crime fighting dentists ... fighting off moral decay and rooting out lawless bacteria.
