April’s arrival dramatically announces the end of winter and the transition to warmer weather when new life springs from the earth. The changing of seasons can be explained by the earth’s orbit around the sun and the changes we experience on earth coincide with changes we observe in the night sky.

Spaghetti fun will help school to obtain vital resources for students. For the first time the Friends of Crestomere School Club will be hosting a spaghetti dinner and silent and live auction on April 12 at Lincoln Community Hall.

Between March 16 and 23, Ponoka RCMP members demonstrated that while ‘justice may be blind ... we are not’ and as a result we observed 28 people doing dumb, dishonest or dangerous deeds with our very own eyes. Not coincidentally that is the number of people lodged in our cells this week.

Among my countless fond memories as a young boy, growing up here in Ponoka was of those cherished adventures as a member of the Cub and Scout groups. As buddies we got to go to camp and mingle with nature, learn about our environment, carve a whistle out a branch, work hard to earn our badges, were taught to respect our parents and our community and so much more.
