On behalf of the Ponoka Stampede board of directors. I would like to welcome everyone to the 72nd annual Ponoka Stampede.
We are very pleased to be honouring our Canadian Armed Forces. Brigadier General Kelly L. Woiden, CD, the Deputy Commander Land Force Western Area and Lieutenant (Navy) David Paszek will be leading out parade.
On June 27 we encourage everyone to wear red for Red Friday honouring are armed forces.
Please take a moment to consider what these young men and women are sacrificing for our country and us. Our heartfelt thanks go out to them.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our volunteers and the people of Ponoka for all their support. Ponoka should be proud of the fact that we host one of the largest, most successful stampedes in North America with the top contestants competing on the best stock.
So please relax and enjoy our expanded facilities and a full week of exciting action at the Ponoka Stampede.
