Wagon Women’s Wild West Fashion Show

Submitted

It’s that time of year again, when the weather gets warmer, the wagons get pulled out and dusted off and the Women of the Wagons begin to plan for another fabulous fashion show and luncheon. The organizers of this year’s event are excited to be using the upper floor of the new Ponoka Ag Events Centre for the first time.

“Life isn’t tied with a bow, but it is still a gift” is the theme of this year’s show. Keeping with this theme, 75 per cent of the proceeds will go to the Alberta Children’s Hospital. Children who have to visit the Alberta Children’s Hospital face a variety of challenges in their lives, but they are the first ones to remind us that life is still a life worth unwrapping. The remaining 25 per cent of the proceeds will go to the World Professional Chuckwagon Association (WPCA) Benevolent Fund to help our own in time of need.

This year four businesses will take part in the fashion show: Steel Magnolias, Jones Boys Saddlery and Western Wear, Busted Ladies’ Wear and Twisted Label. There will be something for everyone – men, women, teens and children. This is also a great opportunity for a business or group to promote itself while supporting a great cause. Plan to attend the July 1 fashion show and luncheon. Doors open at 10 a.m. and the show will end at 3 p.m. The price of the tickets is $55 and tickets will be available at any of the four participating stores payable by cash or cheque only.
