The second day of the 5th Pro Rodeo was a record-setting day.
According to Clay Reich, President of the West of the 5th Pro Rodeo, despite lower turnout on March 21, March 22 numbers were the highest they've ever had for attendance.
The rodeo took place in Rimbey, seeing some newer additions this year.
"We added our clown back in. Squirrelly Early Anderson. We used to hire him a lot back in the WRA Lakeland days, and when we went pro, we kind of stepped away from a clown, and he talked us back into it," said Reich, adding that this is the first time they've had a clown in five or six years.
The trade show also saw an increase in numbers, as they added the junior market, which was in place to encourage kids to take part.
"Last year was our first year (for the market), but we only had five tables, and we had 30 tables this year, and quite a few are hoping we will have them back this year," said Reich.
Some of the winners at this year's rodeo include Cache Schellenberg in Saddle Bronc, Chase Siemens in Bareback, Tanner Eno in the Bull Riding and Shelby Spielman in the Barrel Racing. A list of results can be found by visiting rodeocanada.com.
The rodeo marks the first pro rodeo of the year, and sees a portion of their proceeds being put towards STARS Air Ambulance. The amount raised hasn't been released as of yet.
