Some individuals in Wetaskiwin who left without paying for their oil change found themselves in a heap of trouble on Sept. 18.
The Wetaskiwin RCMP was notified that "a group of individuals" had intentionally left without paying after services had been rendered.
Members of the detachment's Crime Reduction Unit hit the streets and "quickly located" the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.
During the stop, the suspect's vehicle was put into reverse and rammed the officer's vehicle.
After the collision, officers approached the suspect vehicle and arrested all four occupants, including the driver, who decided to attempt to flee on foot.
According to a Sept. 20 media release, officers located a shotgun, a loaded semi-automatic assault-type rifle, a modified rifle, around 15 grams of pre-packaged fentanyl and 100 Gabapentin pills.
Matthew James Crane-Watchmaker, 25, of Samson Cree Nation has been charged with five weapons offences, possession of a firearm contrary to order, and failure to comply with a release order.
Crane-Watchmaker was remanded into custody pending his next hearing in Wetaskiwin on Sept. 24.
Memphis Mackinaw, 22, of Ermineskin Cree Nation has been charged with five weapons offences, two counts of possession of a firearm contrary to order, escape of lawful custody and assault of a peace officer with a weapon.
Mackinaw was remanded into custody pending his next hearing on Oct. 3 in Wetaskiwin.
Daleena Cedar Soosay-Samson, 23, of Maskwacis, was charged with five weapons offences.
Soosay-Samson was remanded into custody pending her next court day on Sept. 23 in Wetaskiwin.
Shane Everette Morin, 19, of Maskwacis, has been charged with five weapons offences and possession of a firearm contrary to an order.
Morin was remanded pending his next hearing on Sept. 23 in Wetaskiwin.

John Learn, of the Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit. ”Removing these armed individuals and their weapons from our streets is the type of impact that the Wetaskiwin Crime Reduction strives for.”
