Junior high and high school-aged cowboys and cowgirls from around Alberta descended on Stettler from June 3-8 for the Alberta High School Rodeo Association finals.
The top 12 athletes from each of the association's three zones competed over three days at the Stettler agricultural grounds.
In Bareback, Jace Lomheim was the champion, while Quaide Skjonsberg, Clay Greenslade, and Colton Stark also qualified for nationals.
Over in Boys' Cutting, Whip Gertner was the champion, with Lane Swales, Cash Yule and Chase Hunter also qualifying.
In the Barrel Racing, Janae McDougall came out on top with Addyson Roth, Georgia Hale and Lola Hogg also qualifying.
Aubrey Ross took the top spot in Breakaway, with Maysa Schiffner, Brooke Belanger and Emma Golden also qualifying.
In the Bull Riding, Jestin Jacklin was crowned champion, with Hayden Mulvey, Kane Scott, and Wyatt Wiancko qualifying.
For the Girls Cutting, Tess Rawlings took top spot, while Brooke Belanger, Janae Blades and Piper Yule all qualified.
Kennedy Smith took the top spot in the Goat Tying, with True Glover, Carly Nunn and Aubrey Ross all qualifying.
In the Pole Bending, Ellie Havens took the championship, with Janae McDougall, Allie McCollister and Teytan Thomson qualifying.
Whip Gertner took top spot in Light Rifle, with Justin Kronschnabl, Abby Domoslai, and Dalton Powell also qualifying.
In the Reined Cow Horse, Cash Yule took top spot, with Tess Rawlings, Brettley Gordon and Piper Yule all qualifying.
Cooper McNiven took top spot in the Saddle Bronc, with Clay Greenslade, William Hale and Sawyer Hutchinson also qualifying.
For Steer Wrestling, Lyle Rombough was the one to beat, with Adam Dinniss, Nathan Bishell and Owen Harder all qualifying for nationals.
In Trap, Dalton Powell was the provincial champion, with Zane Akune, Kayl Hankins and William Herbet all qualifying.
Levi Hunter was the one to beat in Tie Down, with Holton Harms, Mason Hamilton, and Stran Edge all going to be making their way to Wyoming for Nationals.
The top Team Roping header of the weekend was Kayl Hankins, with Piper Yule, Keston Humbke and Cash Yule all qualifying.
Wiley Cumming was the top Team Roping heeler, with Roper Webb, Virgil Paley and Jett Powelson all qualifying.
The Rodeo Queen for 2025 was Kally Wills.
Next up for the athletes is the National High School Finals Rodeo, which will be held in Rock Springs, Wyoming, from July 13-19, 2025.
Following that, the Canadian High School Rodeo Finals will be held in Brandon, Man., from July 30-Aug. 2, 2025.
Over the weekend, while the athletes were in Stettler, several food trucks and other vendors were on site.
The rodeo event was open to the public and well attended.
