Lacombe Police seize $20K worth of illegal drugs

Several Central Albertans face charges

More than $20,000 in illegal drugs was seized by the Lacombe Police Service between May 15 and June 2. 

According to a release, the service conducted a series of proactive traffic enforcement stops that resulted in three significant drug seizures.

Through that enforcement, they seized 86.14 grams of suspected cocaine, 18.31 grams of suspected fentanyl and 111.28 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

The seizures amount to 215.73 grams of illicit substances with an estimated street value of $20,783.80 CAD.

The following individuals have been charged: 

  • 23-year-old Red Deer woman is facing a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.
  • 37-year-old Sylvan Lake man is facing a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.
  • 37-year-old Red Deer man is facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.
  • 47-year-old Red Deer man is facing a charge of possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine.
  • 35-year-old Blackfalds man is facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine and fentanyl.
