As the result of a nearly four-month long investigation, the Leduc RCMP has charged a Leduc resident with drug trafficking.

The Leduc RCMP Drug Unit began their investigation into drug trafficking activities in downtown Leduc in August. In the following months, undercover police officers purchased meth from a male in the downtown area.

On Nov. 26, the RCMP conducted a traffic stop in Leduc, and as a result, Matthew Patrick Macisaac, 40, was arrested.

Macisaac has been charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.

He was released by a Justice of the Peace and is scheduled to appear in court in Leduc on Dec. 12, 2024.

The Leduc RCMP encourage the public to report any criminal or suspicious activity.

"Reports tell us where to look, who to look for, and where to patrol in the future," stated the RCMP release.
